Kota Kinabalu: State government-linked company, Sawit Kinabalu Group, strives to continue in its effort to assist those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the recent big flood, especially along the West Coast of Sabah. It has already distributed RM130,000 worth of food baskets, each containing essential food supply like rice, cooking oil and others, to eight districts namely Membakut, Beaufort, Bongawan, Papar, Tuaran, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Kudat and Pitas. Its Group Managing Director, Bacho Jansie, said this shows that Sawit Kinabalu Group is always committed in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR) by contributing to the community for the sake of their wellbeing.
He said apart from the community in general, the group also gives great priority on the welfare of its staff and workers so as to ensure their work performances are always maintained, adding several of its operation units and workers quarters in Papar, Beaufort, Kota Marudu and Pitas were also affected by the flood.
Throughout the three waves of Covid-19 pandemic period in Sabah, he said the group has channelled RM14.5 million into the effort to assist in curbing the spread of the pandemic and ease the burden of various quarters in the community as well as among its staff.
