PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 2,232 Covid-19 cases and four deaths in the past 24 hours. In a tweet, the ministry said there were 1,006 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 109,115. The total number of infections now stands at 138,224.

There are 28,554 active cases with 187 patients being treated in intensive care and 87 requiring respiratory assistance. Meanwhile, the four deaths brings the total number of fatalities to 555.

The health ministry reported eight new clusters today detected in Johor, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Kelantan, Perak and Terengganu. Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the clusters are the Jalan Keluli cluster in Johor; the Medan Idaman cluster in Kuala Lumpur; the Jelita cluster in Sarawak; the Kampung Renok and Kampung Geting clusters in Kelantan; the Lumut Barat cluster in Perak; and the Kubang Bujuk and Kejaya clusters in Terengganu.
