Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho admits Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wanted to play on after his clash with Josh da Silva last night.

Da Silva was sent off for the challenge, which left Hojbjerg with a bloody shin.

After the Carabao Cup semifinal defeat of Brentford, Mourinho admits the Dane was unhappy with him being substituted.

The manager explained, "I only saw the blood, but he did not want me to put Japhet (Tanganga) in."

However, eventually Hojbjerg was convinced to come off for the final minutes of the 2-0 win.
