Motorist hurt in Tawau mishap

TAWAU: A motorist suffered injuries in a collision with another vehicle at Batu 7 Jalan Apas at 7.50 am, Friday.

District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas said the victim, 24, who was driving a Perodua Bezza, suffered injuries of his left shoulder while the driver of a Perodua Viva, 36, was left unscathed. According to him, the accident happened when the victim was heading back to his house in Flat Sri Titingan from Bandar Sri Indah (BSI).

“When they reached Batu 7 Jalan Apas wheile going through a bend, the Bezza driver lost control and skidded to the opposite lane, leading to a collision.

“As a result, the Viva was damaged on the door while the Bezza was badly damaged.”

Peter said the initial investigation found that the incident was due to the negligence of Bezza driver. The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN166 / 59.
