Crystal Palace are reviving their long-term interest in Mainz striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Palace have been following the centre-forward for 18 months and failed with an offer for the striker in the summer of 2019.
They also made enquiries this past close-season.
The Independent says Palace are taking a fresh look at Mateta as they seek to boost their attacking options for the second-half of the season.
The 23-year-old Frenchman, with a contract until 2023, has already scored ten goals this season in 17 competitive games.
