Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday left him frustrated.

Ollie Watkins struck the only goal of the game for Villa's 1-0 win.

Arteta later said, "To lose the game the way we did is incredible. But, saying that, if you give something to the opponent - and it's not once, it's three balls away in very difficult areas - you stand a chance of losing the game.

"When you produce the kinds of situations that we did around the box, inside the box, the shots, the blocks, the set-pieces, you have to score goals. If not, you cannot win the game.

"Yes but still, the reaction of the team was there and we kept playing and we kept creating chances and playing forward and dominating the game completely.

"You have to put an end to it and in training there are certain things you can do but against pace and against an opposition it's something different and we have to do that, that's what we have to improve."
