Rangers great Richard Gough is hoping they can keep hold of manager Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard has moved the Scottish giants to the brink of their first championship in a decade after a 4-1 win over Dundee United on Sunday extended their unbeaten league record and opened up an 18-point lead on Celtic with only eight games remaining.
"I've been very impressed with him," said the former centre-back.
“This is his third season and he started really well. I can't believe how well the team has done in Europe and don't forget, it's not the Rangers of 30 years ago with England internationals in the side.
"With the quality of players he's got up there at the moment he's done a remarkable job, he really has.
“The money the players are on up there is maybe comparable to the Championship and to be in with a chance of getting through to the last 16 in the Europa League again is terrific. And that's without 55,000 fans behind them.
“The word on the street is that one day he will come back and manage Liverpool, but I just hope that doesn't happen for maybe five years or so because he's still a young man."
