Real Madrid are set to ferry away Martin Odegaard from Arsenal to use him in their summer plans.
Real president Florentino Perez is chasing a deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland for the summer market.
However, Florentino doesn't have the funds available to meet BVB's valuation for the Norway international.
Mundo Deportivo says Florentino instead will seek to drive down the cash component by including players in a cash-plus-player(s) package.
And a key in the deal could be Odegaard, who has admirers in Dortmund. The midfielder is on a straight loan at Arsenal to the end of the season.
