Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has claimed Chelsea and Liverpool are the two English clubs interested in Dayot Upamecano.

The RB Leipzig defender's agent, Volker Struth, confirmed on Sunday that two English clubs wanted to sign in his client, who will be available for £38m.

Rummenigge confirmed Bayern's interest in the 23-year-old, whilst also revealing their competition.

"You have to let things grow in peace. We have a good relationship with Mr Struth. The player will know what he wants at some point," Rummenigge said.

"We have a good relationship with RB Leipzig as well. I have had a conversation with Oliver Mintzlaff. When things become concrete, we'll talk again.

"The fact that Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested in him proves that he has very good qualities. He can replace David Alaba."

Manchester United, Juventus, PSG, Manchester City and Real Madrid had been linked with the France international.
