Sheffield United's Dutch goalkeeper Michael Verrips has returned to his homeland, joining Eredivise side FC Emmen on-loan for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Blades in the summer of 2019, has made one senior appearance for Chris Wilder's side and has been Aaron Ramsdale's understudy on occasions this term.

Previously, the former Holland youth stopper had played for KV Mechelen in Belgium.

Meanwhile, fellow Blades keeper Jake Eastwood has completed a loan move to Grimsby Town until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old moves to Blundell Park with immediate effect, he spent the first half of the season on-loan in Scotland with Kilmarnock but injury curtailed his opportunities to play in the SPL.
