SHAH ALAM, Feb 17 — More than 600 individuals underwent the free community screening organised by the Selangor government at the Dewan Besar Tanjung in Section 19, here, as of 12 noon today.

Representative of the Selangor Covid-19 Special Task Force Operation, Dr Nurul Solihin Nurul Hasnan, said the participants consist of both adults and children.

“Today’s programme saw positive results. We are expecting over 1,000 individuals to be screened today,” he said when met by SelangorKini today.

Nurul Solihin added that the screening programme in collaboration with the Selcare Clinic was conducted by 20 medical staff from the clinic as well as 11 staff of the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia’s Response and Relief Team (Imaret).

Yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the series of free community screenings will be carried out in several locations throughout the state to reduce the Covid-19 infection rate.

He said, after Shah Alam, the programme will be held at the Pandamaran Jaya multipurpose hall in Port Klang tomorrow, from 9am to 4pm.

Those present are asked to register at http://screening.selangkah.my for a smoother process.

The Selangor government had implemented large-scale Covid-19 screening operations in several hotspots starting from April 11 last year to curb the spread of the pandemic.
