Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini refused to criticise his players after their 3-1 defeat to Lazio.
The loss was La Dea's first of the year.
“The opening goal allowed Lazio to be able to play their best and efficiently," Gasperini told DAZN after the match.
“I didn't see a bad performance from my players, unfortunately we conceded some foolish goals.
“It's one of those games where some episodes led to success for the visitors. Overall, I didn't mind Atalanta's performance."
The defeat comes only days after their 3-2 Coppa Italian win against Lazio.
“Last Wednesday, the 10 of us managed to score goals by closing down at the back and not conceding anything," added Gasperini.
“Today, we had to recover, we created. We believed in it, also because we had more energy than Lazio."
