Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood paid tribute to the coaching staff after signing a new deal to 2025 today.

Greenwood was particularly keen to highlight the influence of Kieran McKenna.

He told the club's website: “Yeah, obviously it shows the faith and I think they've been impressed at the end of last season. I'll do my best to get up to those standards again this season. Obviously learning off the likes of Edi [Edinson Cavani], who has come into the team and been very important, so I'm watching him every single day and listening to Kieran [McKenna] and Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] and all the coaching staff.

“I've been with him (McKenna) since he first came in and he was the one who showed faith in me really, putting me up two years to play in the youth team. He gave me the opportunity and I thank him. I was working with Colin [Little] after training in the youth team, he always helped me with my finishing. It just didn't come naturally sometimes so I had him, Kieran, Neil Ryan and all the coaches helping me all the way through."

Greenwood added: "I don't think you can ever do enough really. All the stuff you can get better at and add to your game, I don't think anyone is a complete footballer. There are always lots of things to improve on and do better."
