Liverpool have confirmed they will be without centre-back Joel Matip for the rest of the season.
The Reds have now lost three central defenders to long term injuries.
The latest blow means they are down to no senior defenders from their squad at the start of the season.
Jurgen Klopp will rely on Rhys Williams, new signings Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies, and midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho as his main defensive options for the rest of the term.
Klopp told the club website: "Unfortunately, we found out now after everybody looked at it that Joel will be out for the rest of the season.
"But he will be ready for the start of the next pre-season and finally everything will be sorted."
