Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to give Shola Shoretire a 'little taste' of first-team football on Sunday.

The 17-year-old made his United debut as a late substitute in the 3-1 win over Newcastle United.

And Solskjaer admits the club are excited by the young attacker's potential.

Asked aboutShoretire, Solskjaer replied: "He is a boy we believe in.

"We wanted to give him a little taste of it. Of course the game was not done, still another six or seven minutes but he is a boy we believe in."
