Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard insists he can be a positive influence inside the West Ham locker room.

The 28-year-old, who barely had a look-in at Old Trafford this season, joined the Hammers on loan last month and made a lightning start, scoring twice on his debut at Aston Villa.

After impressing again in Monday's win against Sheffield United, the attacking midfielder believes he can bring something different to the West Ham squad as they look to challenge for a shock top-four place this season.

"When Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) came in he was the perfect example of wanting to win, Jose (Mourinho) as well he wanted to win," Lingard told BT Sport.

"It rubbed off on the likes of me and Marcus [Rashford], I can bring that experience to West Ham.

"I know what it is like to win, it is that focus and mindset of going into each game and winning."

Lingard worked with both Ibrahimovic and Mourinho from 2016 to 2018, as they all won the League Cup and Europa League together in 2017.
