West Ham United boss David Moyes has responded to critics of his transfer strategy.
The Hammers are under fire for not signing a striker in the January transfer window, despite selling Sebastian Haller to Ajax.
They only have Michail Antonio as their first team striker, but he requires periodic resting to manage a number of injury concerns.
And Moyes believes putting money towards a quick fix was not the way to go, as he would prefer to wait for the ideal target to become available.
"It has been well documented that we don't have a lot of other options," the Hammers boss told reporters.
"We're well aware of that and we chose to do it.
"I didn't want to waste £15-20million ($27m) on something I wasn't sure about so that was the option I chose to take."
