Former Crystal Palace midfielder Max Meyer has explained his move to FC Koln.

Meyer signed for Koln as a free agent after having his contract terminated by mutual consent at Palace last month.

Asked if Koln was simply a stepping stone, Meyer replied: “Not at all.

"I came to Koln with full conviction to help us stay up. That is everyone's great goal. Everything else is unimportant.

"Everything else will be discussed in the summer."

On staying, Meyer added, "Anything is possible."
