Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has explained Danny Simpson's appearance for the U23s this week.
Simpson has been training with the Foxes as a free agent.
Rodgers said, “He was a great servant for the club and his legacy is in tact here.
"I had taken a lot of U23s with me, but that left the U23s short because our U18s have been off for a while and no-one to fill in that position.
"It helped our U23s and helped Danny to get some game-time."
