The Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail admits a move to buy Valencia is off.

Tunku Ismail twice made attempts to buy Valencia from owner Peter Lim this month. He first made an attempt on March 14 in Singapore, but was told to wait by Lim. He then flew to Spain last week and was also told by Lim that a deal couldn't happen.

He told AS: "The idea was to buy a part of the shares from Mr Lim.

"In addition to the issues that Lim told me that he wants to solve, others related to Fair Play have slowed down the operation.

"He will not listen to other people or other offers, he he does not want to sell Valencia."
