Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud was close to joining Juventus in September, it has been revealed.
Intermediary Vincenzo Morabito says Giroud was all but a Juve player at the time.
"In September, for an afternoon, Giroud was practically a Juventus player," he told Tuttosport.
"I represent his agent for Italy. Giroud was one step away from Lazio a year ago: if Napoli had sold (Dries) Mertens to Chelsea, the Frenchman would have become Biancoceleste. And in the Autumn, when (Luis) Suarez had vanished, (Edin) Dzeko and (Alvaro) Morata didn't seem feasible on loan, he was practically Juventus for one afternoon."
