Napoli have jumped ahead of Newcastle United and Burnley in the race for Benfica wing-back Nuno Tavares.
O Jogo says both Premier League clubs have held talks with Benfica about a summer deal for Tavares, but have been left unimpressed by their €30m valuation.
In contrast, Napoli are readying a first offer for the defender, after having him scouted for a year.
While they don't wish to do business at Benfica's assessment, Napoli are willing to get closer to the mark than either of their English rivals.
Assisting Napoli in the battle is the Premier League status of Burnley and Newcastle, with both clubs waiting to be sure they'll be avoiding relegation before committing to big summer outlays.
