Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is yet to agree a new contract at the club.

Carroll, who has experienced no shortage of injury problems in the past few seasons, is out of contract at the end of the season.

The Magpies are facing relegation if they do not improve their form in the Premier League, but are still preparing for the future.

Fellow striker Dwight Gayle has reportedly received a three year offer from the Magpies to renew his deal.

But the Chronicle Live says no such offer has been made to Carroll, even though he has a gentleman's agreement with the club to know his future by mid-May.

The 32-year-old has played 16 Premier League games this season, but only four from the start, and has only one goal in those appearances.
