Scott is hoping to secure a move to FC Cincinnati.
The former Chelsea youth product, who is now 23, has been with Newcastle on a two year deal since the start of last season.
Now he wants to depart, per The Sun.
Scott has not made a single appearance for the Magpies, and wants to rejuvenate his career stateside.
Cincinnati boss Jaap Stam wants to sign the player and has invited him over for a trial.
