KUALA LANGAT, March 20 — Close to 7,000 individuals have taken part in the Selangor free Covid-19 community screening programme since early February, as of yesterday.
Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the total figure includes 894 senior citizens from 32 nursing homes in Selangor.
He had also urged to the public to continue attending the free Covid-19 community screening so long as they have yet to receive the vaccine as a safety measure.
“Perhaps due to the availability of the vaccine in the country now, people no longer want to take the Covid-19 test.
“However, I wish to remind the people that as long as they have not received the vaccine, I appeal to them to continue coming for the free Covid-19 testing,” he told Media Selangor when met at the Covid-19 community screening programme at the Telok Panglima Garang community hall, here today.
The state government has allocated RM6 million to carry out the Covid-19 community screening for free throughout Selangor to curb the spread of the pandemic.
The initiative targets the participation of 50,000 state residents in high-density areas as well as those from the low-income group.
