Kinabalu Geopark on track to gaining Unesco recognition

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s 4,750sq km Kinabalu Geopark is on track to be recognised as a Unesco Global Geopark by 2022, which spells promising economic spillovers to the local community. 

Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jaffrey Ariffin said the Kinabalu Geopark is currently awaiting its evaluation for the global recognition, which will commence in July or August this year.
