Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Fabinho needs to start playing in central defence again.
The Reds are enduring a difficult 2021, as the squad is riddled with injuries and their form is indifferent.
Fabinho missed the 2-0 away win at Sheffield United through injury.
Jurgen Klopp's side take on Chelsea on Thursday in a huge clash that may determine who finishes in the top four this season.
"You're only as strong as your weakest link in the football team. They looked a bit vulnerable to a couple of long balls and flick ons tonight," Souness said, per HITC.
"They'll be [up against] a bigger threat on Thursday night when they play Chelsea and you've got to play him [Fabinho] at the back."
