Former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is taking charge of HB Køge.

The 36-year-old will be their new manager from next season and compatriot Lars Jacobsen, who played for Everton, will be installed as the first-team coach.

Agger said: "The idea of returning to a new role in the football industry and testing oneself has matured in recent years.

"HB Køge is the perfect place for me to start. The club rests on healthy values and has a solid foundation.

"The crucial thing for me is that I personally know several of those who run HB Køge in everyday life. I am very much looking forward to getting started - and yes, I look forward to coming under pressure again."
