Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says a first trophy will be huge in the development of his team.

Solskjaer was speaking ahead of their Europa League clash with AC Milan.

He said, "For a team, when you win something it does something to you. Towards the end of my career Nemanja and Patrice's first trophy was a League Cup win - it spurred us on to win the league the following season.

“Last season was a bitter pill to swallow (with three semi-final losses)."

Solskjaer admits Marcus Rashford is out of the first-leg round 16 tie.

"I don't think he'll be available for tomorrow. Didn't train today.

“Normally very optimistic but think he is out of tomorrow night and a doubt for the weekend.

"I'm not sure if anyone will be back. David, no. Donny, no. Juan, no. Edinson, maybe. Rashford, no. Similar side to Sunday.

"Ultimate admiration for AC Milan. Tradition, history, quality, absolute class act."
