Liverpool great Sir Kenny Dalglish says one player from his era could match Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk has emerged as one of, if not the best, centre-backs in the world during his time at Anfield.
Having led Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory, he is now something of an icon to the club.
But when asked during an Instagram Q&A if Van Dijk was the most talented centre-half to pull on a Reds shirt, true Kop legend Dalglish admitted there was one man who could rival him.
“It is a close call between @VrigilvanDijk and Alan Hansen," he wrote in response to the question.
“But they're both injured at the moment. What a privilege Liverpool fans have been able to watch both."
