Kota Kinabalu: The Labour Department here has opened investigation papers against five employers for failure to comply with the Emergency Ordinance (Minimum Standards on Housing, Accommodation and Employee Facilities) Act 446.

State Director Wan Zulkifli Wan Setapa said since March 2, some 1,091 quarters involving 10,209 workers comprising 5,316 or 52pc of local workers and 4,893 or 48pc foreign workers across the state had been inspected.
