LABUAN: As at March 10, only about 20,000 or 20.2 per cent of the 103,000 residents in this duty-free-island have participated in the Population and Housing Census 2020 (Census 2020), said Department of Statistics Malaysia Labuan.Phase One of the Census 2020, which involves online filling in of the details needed, commenced on July 7. Phase Two involving face-to-face enumeration has been delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.“We request cooperation from the public to participate in the census exercise and for those who want to do it without the face-to-face meeting can continue to do so via online or e-Census,” the department said in a statement, Friday. The department said currently its enumerators are being mobilised for a targeted face-to-face exercise according to the suitability and comfort of the local community in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
