Massimo Donati thinks Juventus is the 'right environment' for Paul Pogba.
The Manchester United midfielder's future remains in the balance as his current contract expires in the summer of 2022. Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, stated in December that the World Cup winner was looking at leaving the club.
It is unclear whether the two parties will agree an extension before the summer. But should Pogba decide against re-signing, the Red Devils will surely look to cash in on their star midfielder this summer.
The Frenchman returned to form at the turn of the New Year, but a recent injury could lower his transfer appeal.
Juventus are interested in Pogba, who spent four years with the Bianconeri before moving to Old Trafford in 2016. And former Italy U21 international Donati hopes Pogba returns to Turin.
"Juventus is where Pogba expressed the best version of himself," Donati told Tribalfootball.com.
"I think it's the right environment for him. if he is mentally ready to return to Turin, then yes, I would take him back immediately."
Speaking back in February, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was coy about negotiations over an extension for Pogba.
But the Norwegian insisted Pogba remained committed to helping the club complete their goals for this season.
"Our conversations remain private, of course," Solskjaer said, via the Football Faithful. "But for example, Paul is a Manchester United player through and through. He's been here in two spells. He came as a kid, he's learnt about the history of the club, the passion of the club.
"He wants to do the best for United when he's here and I think we've seen that – that he really cares for his team and he's trying to be as successful as everyone else."
Real Madrid and PSG have also been linked with the 27-year-old.
