Manchester United are preparing to enter the market for a new goalkeeper this summer.

David De Gea's future is hanging in the balance and United are starting to look at alternatives.

According to Sky Sports, United have been scouting Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak for over a year.

But the Red Devils are concerned the Slovenia international will fall outside of their price range.

The 28-year-old has a release clause of £103m, with two years remaining on his current contract.

De Gea has returned to Spain for the birth of his first child, and reports in his homeland have claimed he may return to Madrid on a permanent basis to be closer to his family.

United could potentially use De Gea as a makeweight to lower Atletico's demands for Oblak.

Dean Henderson has impressed in De Gea's absence, but United still want to add another goalkeeper to their squad.

Other options they are assessing include AC Milan star Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lille's Mike Maignan.
