Nearly RM60,000 worth of contraband cigarettes seized in Tawau

TAWAU: The Marine Police Force (PPM) seized a total of 4,850 packs of contraband cigarettes of various types estimated to be worth RM59,967.60 in a raid on stilt houses in Kg Batu 3, Jalan Apas, late Saturday.

Tawau PPM Operations Headquarters Commanding Officer DSP Mohd Nazari Ismail said a team of Marine Intelligence Unit conducted “Ops Gelora” in the area at 10.30pm, following a tip-off on cigarette smuggling.
