Villarreal produced an impressive 2-0 win at Europa League opponents Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday night.
Villarreal won the first-leg of their round 16 tie thanks to goals from Pau Torres and Raul Albiol.
Afterwards, midfielder Etienne Capoue said, "I don't think the first goal was more important. Every goal is crucial. We have worked on these set pieces and I'm glad we scored from them. It's a great result for us and a good advantage before the second leg.
"We put on a good performance but it's only half of the job. They will come to us very motivated in a week. We must not think we are already in the quarter-finals because we will be relaxed and can be punished."
