Kota Kinabalu: A 61-year-old man sustained serious injuries in an accident involving his Toyota Rav4 and a Perodua Viva along Jalan Tun Mustapha in Labuan on Tuesday.The man who sustained a fractured thigh is currently warded at the Labuan Hospital but reported to be in a stable condition, according to Acting Labuan Police Chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani. Preliminary findings showed that the elderly man was heading towards Pohon Batu when he lost control of his car which subsequently hit a Proton Viva driven by a 72-year-old man.
The impact caused the Toyota to crash into a tree and a fire hydrant before landing on its roof in the 8.49am mishap.
The Viva driver escaped unscathed.
