Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Manchester United's recruitment processs will not change dramatically after the appointments of John Murtough and Darren Fletcher.

Murtough, who joined United in January 2014, has been appointed as the club's inaugural football director.

Former United midfielder Fletcher returned to club as first-team coach in January and will now take up the role of technical director.

Asked about how the two new directors will affect the transfer window, Solskjaer said: "I think everyone in world football has been affected by the pandemic and what's going on.

"It'll be an interesting window to see how the market responds. But for me, the process of our recruitment will still be the same with Darren and John in the new roles.

'It's work that we have been doing for years with the manager, the scouting department and the analysis departments. That won't change at all. John, I've worked well with him for years now anyway. We keep in touch at least a few times every week. The communication is very good, which is a positive. We are always looking to add quality to the team."
