Valencia legend Curro Torres said the club made a mistake selling Ferran Torres.
Torres came through the ranks at Valencia, his boyhood club, and made his break in the first-team in 2017.
Over the following three seasons, the talented winger would go on to light up the Mestalla.
The 2019/20 campaign was a breakthrough for Torres as he established himself as a regular first-team star.
The Spain international scored six goals in 44 appearances across all competitions, including two goals in the Champions League.
A host of clubs came swarming for Torres signature in 2020 and they found a willing negotiator in Valencia owner Peter Lim.
Despite being just 20 years old and one of the club's brightest talents, Torres was sold to Manchester City for just €23m.
He has since scored eight goals in 28 appearances for City, showing flashes of immense potential for Pep Guardiola's side.
"At the end of the day, it was an error by the club (Valencia CF) to sell Ferran Torres," the two-time La Liga winner told Tribalfootball.com.
"He was sold for a respectable price but his value now is much higher now that he is at Manchester City.
"So, I believe it was a mistake to have let him go. However, these things do happen in football."
Similarly, Torres believes the club could have also hung on to Rodrigo Moreno, who was sold to Leeds.
He added: "Regarding Rodrigo Moreno, he wasn't sold for footballing reasons as he was performing well at Valencia CF as a player andstriker.
"Valencia sold him with the necessity "para hacer caja"(to cash in)."
