Preston boss Alex Neil admits he tried to sign Kenneth Zohore ahead of Millwall.
Zohore is currently on-loan with the Lions from West Brom.
Neil said, "Kenneth Zohore was someone we looked at.
"So Gary (Rowett, Millwall manager) is backed in the recruitment they have made.
"He has a strong unit there, and you can definitely see that he has left his mark on the team."
