Mohamed Elneny admits he worked at Besiktas to get himself back to Arsenal.
The Egypt midfielder has shone this season after spending last term in Turkey on-loan.
Elneny said: "I always thought I had to come back to Arsenal to be in the squad, to play as I do now. That's why I worked really hard in Beşiktaş and set myself up there to come back stronger.
"When I was at Beşiktaş, I was expecting to come back because I always want to be in the biggest team and I'm always really happy to be in Arsenal."
With Besiktas, Elneny managed 36 appearances.
