Former Barcelona interim president Carles Tusquets has concerns about the leaking at the club.

Tusquets has expressed his concern about the inner working at the club, specifically the way Lionel Messi's contract details were recently leaked to the press.

The 70-year-old, who has been replaced by Joan Laporta after the latter won the presidential elections, insisted that his committee did not have access to the Barcelona captain's deal.

"I don't know what is happening at Barcelona and everything is being leaked," Tusquets told Radio MARCA.

"It's worrying. No one from the management [committee] had access to Messi's contract."

Tusquets also clarified that he has never stated that Messi should depart Barcelona so the club can finance some of their debts.

"I did not say that it was necessary for [Messi] to leave the club," added Tusquets.

"They asked me if it would be economically beneficial and the answer, as an economist, is that it was obvious. But I have never said that I wanted Messi to leave the club.

"The one who wanted to leave the club at that time was Messi. If he has to stay, he has to do so under favourable conditions for Barcelona."
