Southampton striker Che Adams was proud of his superb goal in victory at Sheffield United on Saturday.
It's the fourth time the striker has netted against his previous employers in the Premier League, and this particular strike was one to savour, with Adams humbly admitting he 'connected well' with it.
"It's been a long time, both for the team and for me," Adams reflected. "We got the three points in the end and that's all that matters.
"We knew they were going to be a good team who'll pass the ball well, so it was just about staying disciplined and working hard for the second balls, keep battling hard.
"A couple of us had other chances that maybe we should have scored and put the game to bed. The lads worked really hard to stay in the game and get us over the line.
"As soon as it fell to me I only thought one thing, shoot. I'm happy it went in. I gave Stu a shout, obviously he laid it on perfectly for me and I connected well with it. As soon as it left my foot I knew it was going in.
"Hopefully it continues, we've got hard games coming up now but I think we can do it with the team that we've got. Today is a massive push in the right direction and we have to build on this."
