Manchester United have told Inter Milan they're willing to take a player in exchange for an outstanding installment of the fee owed for the sale of Romelu Lukaku.

Corriere dello Sport says Inter have missed a deadline to pay an installment and as part of the original agreement, it means they become immediately responsible for the entire remainder of the fee - which stands at €50m.

With owners Suning in financial difficulty, United have proposed an alternative for the Nerazzurri to meet their debts.

United are suggesting Inter release either Lautaro Martinez or Milan Skriniar to them in exchange for the €50m - and would be willing to make up the difference, with both players rated at a higher price than the debt.

Interestingly, UEFA also require clubs to be up to date with transfer fees by March 31.
