The former State skipper started his coaching career as the State Under-19 coach and was the head coach that guided the senior team to gain Super League promotion in 2019.
He was then appointed assistant coach to Indonesian Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto in last season’s Super League campaign because he did not hold the AFC Pro A licence mandatory for the head coach job.
