Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not have enough top class players at his disposal.

That is the opinion of former Norway international Jan Aage Fjortoft.

"The only tactic from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United can't be a penalty and a Bruno Fernandes goal," Fjortoft told ESPN FC.

"I think that you have to be honest, with this team, with this season, if they make top four, great.

"But to take the next step, to challenge for the title as Manchester United always should, they need new players.

"They have too many average players in that team, they have too many young players that maybe could be great players but are not at all close to being great players now.

"So they need two or three to even challenge for the title at United."
