KUALA LUMPUR - For an upcoming event hosted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, the Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF) is proud to be sending 18 bright Under-14 minds to represent our nation.
With over 25 applicants, the Selection Committee headed by Vice President Yeoh Chin Seng was eventually able to narrow it down to four teams - two boys and two girls team, with a total of nine boys and nine girls.
Happening this weekend from the 27th to the 29th March, representatives for this ASIAN level event were chosen based on their prior performances and through applications and will be competing online at home.

The MCF will be organizing their own hybrid competition starting 31st March till the 4th of April.
This Classical Time Control competition mode will be divided into two categories, the Open and the Challenger section, with a total prize fund of RM8,000 for the winners.
Marking the third Hybrid Online event for the MCF, this will be the first that will be FIDE Rated.
