KUALA LUMPUR: The police are currently investigating claims that a politician with a Datukship outraged the modesty of a businesswoman last year. Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the report was lodged by the victim, 48, on March 16. “The victim claimed that the incident happened at her house in Taman Bukit Melawati here around July or August last year and the man, in his 50s, is a close friend of the victim’s husband,” he said in a statement here, Sunday.
He said based on the police report lodged, the woman claimed the man and his wife came to her house and spent the night there and he allegedly committed the offence when the victim was sleeping in the living room. "He reportedly left the house with his wife after realising that the victim was awake. The victim was afraid to make a police report over fears that it might destroy the relationship between the victim and the suspect, and she was also unsure about what to do as the suspect is an influential politician in an East Coast state,” he said.
Mohamad Farouk said no arrests have been made at this point and they are still in the midst of completing the investigation.
