Manchester City left back Oleks Zinchenko admits the summer transfer of Ruben Dias transformed their back line.
The Citizens now have one of the meanest defences in Europe, and rely on clean sheets rather than scoring a lot of goals to win games.
City now have 16 clean sheets this term, adding another in the recent 3-0 win over Fulham.
"I think one of the reasons in Ruben Dias. He is so important for us. Since he came, we have had that confidence," Zinchenko told reporters.
"It is not just because of that. The job John Stones, Ayermic Laporte, João Cancelo, Kyle Walker and the other defenders have done is incredible.
"The main reason I would say is because we have worked so hard. Simple as that."
