Sheffield United are not actively seeking a new director of football appointment.
Yorkshire Live says a report in the national media today claims a breakdown in the relationship between the manager and Prince Abdullah is due to plans to bring in a DoF to work above the current Blades boss.
Chris Wilder's future at Sheffield United remains uncertain due to tensions behind the scenes over a number of matters involving the direction of the football club.
However, a DoF is not one of those issues.
There could well be a shift towards this structure after Wilder's time at Bramall Lane comes to an end, with Prince Abdullah a fan of this type of set-up, but reports this is a current option are wide of the mark.
